| The Show Was a Huge Hit! David Reis, Trade Show Manager, reports that the 10th SouthWest Leather Workers Trade Show in Wickenburg, Arizona was a huge success. In total, over 700 people were involved. Leatherworkers came from far and near. He expresses his sincere thanks to the instructors, students, visitors, facility director and most of all the exhibitors who make it possible. Dave says, “This show keeps picking up more and more momentum. It is so thrilling to see more and more folks learn more about leatherwork, get the supplies they need for their benches and shops, make new connections and most of all celebrate our special industry with pride. Needless to say, it is with pleasure that The Journal serves our people with vigor, rigor and urgency. | 17th Rocky Mountain Leather Trade Show Gets Balanced Blend of Workshops and Another Great World Leather Debut Trade show manager Dave Reis and staff are working hard to create a balanced blend of workshops for this key industry show. Cutting to the chase, the workshops should not take up the entire weekend. The folks need quality time with the exhibitors. At the same time it is necessary to have workshops to get folks excited about their work, motivated to discover more techniques and to be better-qualified buyers when making purchases at the exhibitor booths. Dave says enthusiastically, “I think we have hit that balance, that sweet spot if you will, with the workshop line-up at Sheridan, home of the Rocky Mountain Leather Trade Show.” The show dates are May 21 – 23, 2010, with workshops starting as early as Monday, May 17, 2010. Admission to the show is FREE while workshops carry their respective fees; online registration will be available at www.leathercraftersjournal.com. Along with this blend of brisk activity is the 9th World Leather Debut. It is picking up momentum by the day. To date there are 30 companies sponsoring a total of $6750.00 in prize money.
